With all your might

Disclaimer: To understand the Lord's spiritual truth, you must be born from above by his Holy Spirit. Be sure you've submitted yourself to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and receive this gift from the Lord, lest you add knowledge with no power and are held eternally accountable.

Good evening and こんにちは, hope your day went well in the Lord today. Mine did! I started off the morning with some audio Bible, then studied some Japanese before work. I then worked all day at my part-time job, and got a free pizza (I work at a pizza place). It's BBQ chicken with onions which is awesome, I saved most of it for tomorrow. Today, I wanted to share some verses on doing things "with all your might" as a recent phrase I learned in Japanese is 力いっぱい which means "with all your strength, as hard as you can, full power."

Verses

Here are some verses about doing things with all your strength, might, with full power.

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” (Deuteronomy 6:5, KJV)

“And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.” (Judges 16:30, KJV)

“And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.” (2 Samuel 6:14, KJV)

“And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.” (1 Chronicles 13:8, KJV)

“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;” (Colossians 1:10-11, KJV)

More Verses

Now I want to share some verses related to doing things with all your might.

“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” (John 15:11, KJV)

“But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.” (Acts 9:22, KJV)

“And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.” (Mark 12:32-34, KJV)

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19, KJV)

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58, KJV)

Various Thoughts

I wanted to share this too, let's take a look at the word in Greek...

"might"
dunamis
doo'-nam-is
From G1410; force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): - ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.

I've noticed in my own walk, that once I've picked a direction that's good, pure, true, and well-pleasing to God, I don't cower away from the hard stuff. If a wall pops up, I run through it. The Lord wants his saints to bear much fruit, so if trials, situations, or persecutions get in the way, the Lord gives us the strength to overcome and keep going. Our job is to continue in this covenant, and in these good works, with all our might, and the Lord promises to give us the power to do it. What an awesome and powerful God we serve if you're truly born of him. But the Lord has to know you, so test yourself to this Gospel and make sure you've given all over to him, otherwise he won't even hear your prayers!

“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” (John 9:31, KJV)

Closing Reflections

I hope this post encouraged you tonight to continue in good works with all your might, like the men who trusted in God did throughout the Bible. One last thought, if we choose not to serve God with all our might, who are we serving? Make sure your entire life is angled toward doing the Lord's will. Check out this post I did to get you moving in the right direction.

Goodbye for now, serve God 力いっぱい(with all your strength)!
