Introduction

Hello and こんばんは, hope you're all seeking the kingdom of God this chilly evening. I had a great day at work, and I also worked on adjusting the website while talking with some saints as well. I wanted to edify you with a topic, relatively short but important tonight.

The basics

I made some adjustments to my Gospel page today, and after talking through a few things with some saints, I adjusted the format of The Path to Eternal Life to be more biblically sound.

Originally I had swapped Repentance and Faith around to try and explain the path in simpler terms, but what ended up happening was in my attempts to explain things better, I went outside of scripture. A simple question: How can you repent to a God you don't have faith in? Absolutely true! You must hear of the risen Savior, his life, his death, his resurrection for the remission of sin, and his call to repentance, before you can actually repent to him. I repented of that error and fixed the page.

When I tried to cover all the different walks of life, and reach a larger audience, trying to figure out how to best explain the Gospel to everyone, I lost focus of simplicity and the basics. The Gospel is the same everywhere, the truth is the same everywhere, the Rock is the same everywhere, the word of God is the same everywhere. It's the difference between words that man's wisdom teaches and God's wisdom teaches. There's simplicity in Christ, preach the truth, explain it with God's word, and if a person hears, they hear, if they don't, they don't. The preaching of the cross will always be foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those seeking truth, it's simplicity is a fountain of life!

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3, KJV)

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18, KJV)

Discerning a Tract

I found a spiritually dead tract at a McDonald's the other day that I want to share with you, just so you can see the deception that's in the world a little clearer. Check out this page of this man who's a "fine Christian" supposedly after conversion. Do you see the problems?

His house isn't in order (his wife is in form revealing clothes, no head covering), he's dressed like the world (God set the clothing standard in Genesis 3), he's sharing God's truth in hypocrisy. He asks what is the will of God, yet, the will of God is you keep his commandments, which he's not doing. The last page has a incomplete Gospel, an unbiblical sinners prayer, notice, no new birth by the Spirit of God mentioned.

That's only a few of it's glaring issues, and God's word says one lie keeps you out of eternal life. Don't be deceived, if one sin is promoted in these tracts, toss it out.

“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” (Revelation 22:15, KJV)

Japanese Language Update

Speaking of basics, I'm still hammering away at Vocabulary, and probably will be for a while. I've noticed, there's a lot of words that sound the same in Japanese, but have totally different meanings, kind of like the English weigh, way, whey. And what's even more interesting is, there's a system of writing called Kanji that's used in the language for words, they look like this 指問　but they sound like this ゆびとい (yu-bi-to-i). So the Kanji, where I am right now in my learning, look more like pictures with sounds attached to them. Maybe that's how they're supposed to be learned and read? I'll find out eventually :)

Closing Reflections

Keep things simple, focus on the word and preach that, and those who will hear will hear. Tonight's going to be a chilly one ~40 degrees. Good sleeping weather I say.
