A lot to cover
Disclaimer: To understand the Lord's spiritual truth, you must be born from above by his Holy Spirit. Be sure you've submitted yourself to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and receive this gift from the Lord, lest you add knowledge with no power and are held eternally accountable.
Introduction
Good evening or γγγ°γγ―, γγγγ―Colinγ§γ, hope you're all doing well in the Lord. Today was a day off, and while I planned on cutting my hair today, and going through my food supply, it's a rainy day so I decided to take it slow and study the word of God and some Japanese. I'm currently at a Wendy's in a different town, as I took a short trip (about 30 mins) just to take a break from the town I was in. It's good to get out and about every once and a while! I got some free nuggets with my drink, because I had to redownload the Wendy's app, and make a new account.

Writing about the Gospel
The following is some writing I did today, as I wanted to sharpen my language when it comes to sharing the truth of the Gospel. It's important to explain things in an understandable way, as Satan is very good at twisting definitions. You may see me rewrite words over and over, or repeat myself, but this is to hammer home things in my mind and make emphasis. I hope this edifies you!
This walk is a personal walk, just like marriage is a personal covenant. I serve God out of a willingness in my heart to please him, just like a man loves his wife out of a willingness of the heart to love her. This is similar to man's marriages, entering into a covenant with God requires a decision (repentance) to be committed only to God as the truth. The reason we have so many supposed "truths" in the world, and everyone seems to have their own, is because they haven't submitted to the Truth, who is God, Jesus Christ. You crucify your own "truths" to be submitted to "the Truth" and you begin testing all things to THE TRUTH. Service of God is service in truth, according to his word. When you submit to be conformed to Jesus Christ, you submit yourself to the "beloved Son" in whom the Father is well pleased. You're conformed to the truth which the Lord Jesus gave us from the Father, entrusting yourself (faith) to the Word of God as the truth, not yourself, and not the world. When you love God, you serve him in truth. But, serving God in truth requires an understanding of spiritual things, because God is a Spirit. The carnal man can't understand the things of God, it's foolishness to him. This is why rebirth (born from above) by the Spirit of God must take place before you can conform to truth. Just like a marriage, if you begin to do marriage things before you've committed totally to the other person, it'll be worthless because the heart isn't there.
βGod is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.β (John 4:24, KJV)
You must have the Spirit of Truth guiding you into spiritual truth. This is given by God after you commit totally, entrust yourself, lay down your whole life, submitting in heart and mind to service of the Lord of truth. Just like a marriage (I'll keep bringing it up), unless you submit totally, lay down your whole life of singleness for that person, and commit to serving that person alone in a marriage, the works done will be worthless and probably done poorly.
βNo man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.β (Matthew 6:24, KJV)
The fruit of a totally submitted heart and mind, being led by the Spirit of Truth to serve God in truth, is a conforming to the Word of God BECAUSE it's the truth. You want to conform to God's word. You've made the decision (repentance) in your mind to conform to the truth, and to love God by obeying him. You've entrusted yourself (faith) to the word of God as the truth, totally relying in God. The Lord sees this submission, and gives you the gift of the Holy Spirit (born from above) to lead you into his spiritual truth. The product of a submitted heart, being led of the Spirit of God, is conforming to Jesus Christ, the beloved Son of God. How you look, talk, act, dress, associate will be conformed to God's word because you've personally committed your whole life to the truth. You've committed to God's word in faith, knowing it's the truth. You obey it, knowing it's the truth, and the world/your own flesh is not. You love the truth, and love those who love the truth. You keep other saints in the truth, knowing it's the truth. You defend and contend for the truth, knowing the word of God is the truth. Oh, I could go on, but you get the point I hope.
You must endure holding fast to the Rock of truth unto death. The truth is unchanging. When you commit to the truth, the Spirit will lead you into the truth in God's word. Once you know the truth, and are doctrinally perfect in God's word, the objective is holding fast to it, and obeying it day-by-day through much tribulation. You'll fall sometimes, but the truth doesn't change. You'll mess up every now and again, the truth doesn't change. The truth never changes, but the trials change, the people in your life might change, etc. This is the narrow path. You must be submitted, led into truth by the Spirit, obey that truth, and continue to obey that truth through various tribulations in the world.
βWho will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.β (Romans 2:6-11, KJV)
God is righteous, his truth is righteous, you must patiently continue in obedience to the truth. Bearing good fruit takes time. Once you know a truth in God's word, you continue in it day-by-day, and it matures.
βBut that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.β (Luke 8:15, KJV)
You need the truth to bring forth good fruit.
βI am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.β (John 15:5, KJV)
You have to abide in Christ, the truth, which you've committed to, and are holding fast to every day, to bring forth fruit with patient continuance in well doing. The truth doesn't change, so the Lord calls us to hold fast to it, and keep producing good fruit.
βBehold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.β (Revelation 3:11, KJV)]
βThen said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.β (John 8:31-32, KJV)
Study Topics
Here are some topics I made notes on today. Did you catch the pun of the blog title? All of these studies are topics on biblical clothing...
Adornment (Biblical Clothing)\
1 Timothy 2:9-10
"adorn" kosmeoΜ kos-meh'-o From G2889; to put in proper order, that is, decorate (literally or figuratively); specifically to snuff (a wick): - adorn, garnish, trim.
Who's proper order? If there's no standard for a proper order, how can a woman or man put their dress in proper order? It's God's order that's proper order, just like the stars, the sun, the moon, are set in proper order.
1 Peter 3:3-6
(the New King James Version changes vs. 3 to say "let not your adornment be merely outward" which is unbiblical, Revelation 22:18)
Broiding and plaiting the hair refers to complex braids and fancy curls, designed to draw attention.
Jewelry and makeup easily fall into the adornment category. We can discern the spirit behind these things. Is the woman (or man) submitted to God in humbleness, lowliness, meekness, obeying his word? Or are they in pride, rebellion, and cultural worldly ways?
The only time jewelry, beauty accessories, and cosmetics are used to draw attention, is by pagans and harlots in the Bible.
Ezekiel 23 - Talks about adornment for attraction by a woman playing a harlot.
2 Kings 9 - Jezebel the harlot painted her eyes and adorned her head.
Jeremiah 4 - Enlarging the eyes with paint, adorning with ornaments, considered vanity.
Isaiah 3 - Description of the haughty daughters of Zion.
What is the root word of "bravery" in tinkling ornaments?
"bravery"
paΜ'ar
paw-ar'
A primitive root; to gleam, that is, (causatively) embellish; figuratively to boast; also to explain (that is, make clear) oneself; denominatively from H6288, to shake a tree: - beautify, boast self, go over the boughs, glorify (self), glory, vaunt self.
Revelation 17 - The Mother of Harlots adorned in various ornaments
The attention should not be drawn to the outward appearance, but to the inward spiritual work of Christ in the display of character.
βHe must increase, but I must decrease.β (John 3:30, KJV)
The putting down of self outwardly, highlights the Spirit of the Lord and his glory in our lives, not ourselves.
Men are to be examples for women, so men should be biblically dressed, plain, unadorned as well, showing the inward work of Christ.
Nakedness
~Used about 87 times throught the Bible
Viewed mostly in a negative way. A few places it talks about naked lands, or a prophet being naked, but most is nakedness in bad context.
Isaiah 20:2 - Prophet walking naked
1 Samuel 19:24 - Saul prophesied and laid down naked.
Most likely not fully naked. Nakedness can be a partial uncovering of the body.
Genesis 9:22-25 - Noah totally nude, son was cursed seeing his nakedness.
2 Samuel 6:14 - David was not naked, he was without his kingly robe.
John 21:7 - Outer garment was most likely off to do fishing work. But, Peter was a fleshly man before the Holy Spirit fell. Not a good thing that he was exposed either way.
βBehold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.β (Revelation 16:15, KJV)
While men girded up the loins in Scripture to do various strenuous activities, the girding involved tying the tunic around the thighs, not exposing nakedness at all, but freeing the legs to do complex movement. (the tunic I wear covers the thighs, but doesn't go past the knees, so I'm technically in a "girded" mode all the time, allowing me to be more flexible, especially in van life)
God Looks Upon the Outside
1 Samuel 16:7 - God can see the heart, it doesn't mean he doesn't care about the external things.
God examines the heart.
Jeremiah 11:20
Jeremiah 17:10
1 Chronicles 28:9
Psalms 7:9
Proverbs 17:3
John 2:25
Revelation 2:23
God cared enough about the outside enough to cover Adam and Eve in coats.
Genesis 3
Uncovered locks (hair) and the bare leg reveal nakedness and shame.
Isaiah 47
Sinful to look upon the nakedness of someone who is not your spouse.
Genesis 9 - Ham saw the nakedness of Noah and was cursed.
Exodus 28:42 - Breeches to cover nakedness.
Exodus 32:25 - Aaron made the people of Israel naked to their shame.
Leviticus 18 - Instruction for not uncovering nakedness.
Habakkuk 2 - Woe to those that get men drunk to look on nakedness.
Nakedness can refer to improper covering. If God defined what it is to be clothed, that which is not God's standard is being unclothed ie. naked.
The Israelites were given many instructions for outward appearance.
Exodus 28
Leviticus 19
Numbers 15
Deuteronomy 22
Ezekiel 44
Jacob's family changed clothing, cleaned themselves, removed jewelry before going to Bethel.
Genesis 35
Outward adorning is associated with Baal worship.
Hosea 2
Circumcision an outward sign of God's covenant.
Genesis 17
Pride associated with external adornments.
Isaiah 3
The attire of an harlot.
Proverbs 7:10
In the NT outward appearance is very important.
1 Timothy 2
1 Corinthians 11
1 Peter 3
How does the bride of Christ look?
Revelation 19:8 - arrayed in clean, fine, white linen
How does the Mother of Harlots look?
Revelation 17 - decked with gold, pearls, purple and scarlet.
Saints will be clothed in white robes.
Revelation 6, 7
The heart is reflected in outward actions, obedience, submission to God's word and Spirit. If you're in rebellion against the truth, the outsides will show. If you're submitted to God's word, the outsides will show. It's delusional to think you can obey God in your heart, with no outward obedience. That's like loving your wife in your heart, while you beat her and cheat on her.

How I study these things.
I review vocabulary and grammar points using a sort of flashcard system on Renshuu every day, and I use the Genki book to move me along once I get good at a lesson. I supplement with YouTube videos, explaining concepts more in-depth, because I find I can remember and use things better when I understand the whys.
Closing Reflections
Oh it's starting to get chilly here. Today I'm wearing three layers of clothes! I like winter as I've said before, and snow is nice :) I will be sending pictures of the various storms this winter no doubt if the Lord gives me the days so you can see them. Oh, today I took a minute and looked up a timelapse of weather radar over 10 years time over the whole US. It was cool to see how the Lord moves the clouds and rain to water the land at different parts, at different times. You know, one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day.
βBut, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.β (2 Peter 3:8, KJV)
Rest well and seek the kingdom of God. γγγγΏ!
